Spreading Affirmations

Our Girl Empowerment class recently spread positivity throughout the halls at Hayes by placing uplifting affirmations for students and staff to see each day. The hallways are now filled with encouraging messages. Here are just a few highlights being showcased!

Hayes 25-26 Future City Recap

Hayes All School Read

Hayes All School Read Begins February 20, sponsored by our Hayes/Beagle PTO!

Our whole school is about to take part in a special, community-wide shared reading event.

Every family will receive a free copy of the same book – City Spies by James Ponti – and you are being asked to read it together at home the last week of February and into March.

We are asking you to set aside time so that your family can participate in this special activity, beginning Friday, February 20. You will sign your child's "Mission Operation Reading Log" that they will turn into their homeroom teacher each Monday. Additional details are included in this letter and calendar. We look forward to chatting about the book together, discussing favorite characters or events that took place, as we all read the same book on the same schedule!

Hayes Happenings!

Play

The school news is a completely student-led operation. They work hard creating and putting together content each week! They analyze and critique each episode as a class on Mondays and aim to improve each week. Thank you for supporting and encouraging our students. Here is a link for this week's episode.

6th Grade: "Puberty -  The Wonder Years"

Dear 6th grade families,

Your student are coming home today with information and permission slips for "Puberty - The Wonder Years. Please reach out to your child's teacher with any questions.

Vocal Arts Day Volunteer Sign-Up

On Thursday February 26th, we will be hosting our Annual Grand Ledge Vocal Arts Day. This is an event where the choir students from GLHS, Beagle, and the 6th graders from Hayes all come together to sing in a mass choir. This day is filled with singing, learning, fun, and pizza (can't forget the pizza with these kids!)

We still need volunteers throughout the day, especially in the morning TB boys session to help us keep everything flowing smoothly so we can give the students an excellent experience. Attached you will find a signup genius with multiple time slots in the AM, Lunchtime, and PM.

Please consider signing up here

If you are unable to volunteer your time and are looking for a way to help, you can donate a flat of bottled water, or a large box of granola bars (no nut products please). Your child will need to bring this to their choir director by Tuesday February 24th.

Want a say in how fundraising dollars support students? Looking for a fun way to give back? We need volunteers for dances, field trips, teacher appreciation, and more—whether you have an hour or a whole afternoon, every bit helps!

Join us and see how you can make a difference!

The next meeting is on Tuesday, March 10th, 2026 at 6:30 pm in the Beagle Media Center.
