Autism Acceptance Week 4/14-4/18

A huge thank you to everyone who took part in Autism Acceptance Week! It was truly heartwarming to see our school community come together in such a colorful and meaningful way. Your creativity and spirit shone through in every outfit, and it was so inspiring to see how each of you helped represent and celebrate autism acceptance. What an amazing week filled with unity, awareness, and pride!

Exciting Airport Adventure for Our 6th Graders!

Our 6th grade students recently took off on a memorable field trip to the Lansing Airport! As part of their exploration of transportation and careers, students got a behind-the-scenes look at airport operations, toured the terminal, and even had the chance to speak with aviation professionals. From learning how planes are maintained to watching takeoffs and landings up close, the day was packed with hands-on learning and high-flying fun!

Hayes Happenings!

The school news is a completely student-led operation. They work hard creating and putting together content each week! They analyze and critique each episode as a class on Mondays and aim to improve each week. Thank you for supporting and encouraging our students. Here is a link for this week's episode.

Crosswalk Safety

Safety is our top priority at Hayes. As a friendly reminder, please use the crosswalk when crossing the parking lot during pick-up and drop-off. With the high volume of vehicles in the mornings and afternoons, the safest way to cross is when a staff member signals that it is clear to do so. Thank you for your cooperation!

A Note About Tardies

We completely understand that life can sometimes cause delays, and we know mornings can be hectic. However, we’d like to remind you of the importance of students arriving on time and ready to learn when the bell rings at 7:40 a.m.

When students arrive late, it can be difficult for them to catch up, and it can also disrupt the class for their peers. We want all of our students to have the best possible experience, and being on time is an important part of that.

If there are any challenges making it hard for your student to be on time, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We are here to support your family and work together to find ways to make mornings run more smoothly.

Thank you so much for your understanding and for all the ways you support your child’s education.

Leaving GLPS

If your student is leaving Grand Ledge Schools for the 2025-2026 school year, please call the Hayes office at 517-925-5740. Thank you!

Drop-off and Pick-up

Friendly reminder: Students may enter the building after 7:15 AM, and dismissal is at 2:25 PM. Please note, there is no adult supervision after 2:45 PM. Kindly ensure your student(s) have transportation arranged.

2:00 PM is the cut-off for calling the office to change your students means of transportation home.

Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)

The Hayes/Beagle PTO is making things happen for our students, and we’d love for you to be part of it! There’s no cost to join—just an opportunity to connect, stay informed, and support the programs and events that make our schools great.

Want a say in how fundraising dollars support students? Looking for a fun way to give back? We need volunteers for dances, field trips, teacher appreciation, and more—whether you have an hour or a whole afternoon, every bit helps!

Join us and see how you can make a difference!
