Bell Schedule at Hayes

Dear Hayes Families,

A friendly reminder about the bell schedule here at Hayes:

7:20 am - Drop Off.

7:39 am - Warning Bell - students should be on their way to class.

7:40 am- School Day Begins - means that students are seated at their desks.

2:25 pm - Dismissal Bell

Once the bell rings at 7:40 am, we must close the doors for security purposes. At this time if you are still in the carline, please proceed to the Main Entrance to drop off your child. They will need to ring the bell to be let in and have to sign in. The secretaries in the office will help them get signed in and make a lunch choice before they head to class.

Reminder to Families

Please talk with your students about the importance of continuing to say something to an adult if they see something concerning as we take all reports seriously. Additionally, please remind your students that even small items, like multitools used for crafting, should not be brought to school.

Vocal Arts Day 2026

On Thursday, February 26th, Grand Ledge High School will host Vocal Arts Day, open to any 6th grader from Hayes Intermediate. Buses will transport students from Hayes to GLHS and back. Beagle Middle School singers will also be joining for this event. The day is split into two sessions: the morning is the tenor/baritone session for boys, and the afternoon is the soprano/alto session for girls. Vocal Arts Day is a great way to experience choir, meet current GLHS and Beagle singers, and have fun making music together. Whether you already love singing or are just curious, we hope you’ll join us for a day full of music, teamwork, and fun!

Registration closes February 12th, 2026

Rare Disease Day - February 28th

On Friday, February 27, one of our classes will be recognizing Rare Disease Day (officially observed on February 28). The school is proud to support their efforts to raise awareness and show kindness to individuals living with rare diseases.

This recognition is especially meaningful as one of our students is living with several extremely rare diseases. To support the class’s efforts, a shirt campaign is being organized. Families who wish to participate may purchase a shirt, which can be worn on February 27. Due to shipping timelines, orders will be open for 3–4 weeks. The Rare Disease shirt order form is available for those interested.

Thank you for your support.
